October at Mobile ATA

Look for more info on ways we will promote Breast Cancer Awareness during the month of October.  Testing and Fall Nationals are both quickly approaching, and we're very excited to watch everyone demonstrate how hard they've been training. We will wrap up October by celebrating Halloween with a triple dose of FUN!!! All Mobile ATA students are invited to attend both the Hillcrest and Schillinger Haunted Houses on the weekend before Halloween! Then wear your costume to class on Halloween for some more fun, games, tricks and treats!!!

Upcoming Tournaments

We highly recommend that our students compete in ATA Tournaments. It's important to remember that tournaments are not just a time to win trophies. They allow us to meet new people, make new friends, put nerves to the test and display our skills. By focusing on these goals, we make ourselves better whether we win or lose.


This year, all tournaments in our region, will have a novice division that our students can compete in. This division is for beginner level students or for students who only know 1/2 of their form. Students participating in the novice division are not eligible for State or World Championship points. Leadership student's may compete in the competitive divisions to earn points for these championship programs.

Our instructors and students will be participating in the following competitions. See your instructor for details, and please consider participating in one of the upcoming events.

Oct. 21-22          Fall Nationals - Orlando, FL
Nov. 12               Regional Tournament - Perry, GA (novice divisions)
Jan. 14            Regional Tournament - Valdosta, GA (novice divisions)
Feb. 25               Regional Tournament - Augusta, GA (novice divisions)
